After two unavoidable Covid-19 induced delays Record Store Day '20 Drop Day 1 took place on Saturday August 29th and The Blue Beat Label 60 Year Celebration Single, a very special double A side 7" vinyl featuring Marcus Upbeat "Blue Beat Is Back In Town" (2020) and Lauren Aitken "Boogie Rock" (1960) was released.
Record Store Day '20 Drop Day 1 was a well deserved great success for all involved in these extraordinary and difficult times for the entertainment and retail industries and great and warmest congratulations must go to the organisers, co-ordinators and participating stores. Record shops really are great!
The Blue Beat Label is now really looking forward to supporting Record Store Day '20 Drop Day 3 on October 24 when The Blue Beat Label 60 Year Celebration Album will be released. This very special limited edition 12" vinyl album to celebrate 60 years of The Blue Beat Label 1960-2020 on limited edition blue vinyl and limited edition gatefold sleeve will be a Record Store Day '20 Drop Day 3 exclusive on Saturday October 24th. Appropriately, this album will feature tracks from and related to The Blue Beat Label's culture-shaping history. Also represented will be the more recent and current chapters of The Blue Beat Label.
